OVERVIEW
The sink area is one of the most frequently used workspaces in the kitchen, supporting activities that range from food preparation and cleaning to organization and storage. In recent years, a new generation of smart sinks has emerged, introducing numerous features aimed at improving convenience and efficiency. However, many of these products prioritize functionality over aesthetics, often appearing more like electronic appliances than integrated elements of a premium kitchen.
EcoTech was developed to challenge this approach. Rather than simply adding technology to the sink, the project sought to integrate advanced functions, accessories, and storage solutions within a clean and architectural design language.
The result is a multifunctional workstation that brings together innovation, organization, and visual simplicity, balancing advanced functionality with a refined architectural presence.
DESIGN APPROACH
The project began by studying how people interact with the sink throughout the day. Washing, rinsing, preparing food, and organizing tools often happen simultaneously, creating clutter and inefficiencies within the workspace. Many of the accessories most frequently used around the sink are either left exposed on the countertop or stored away, disrupting workflow and reducing organization.
EcoTech addresses these challenges through a coordinated system of integrated accessories, dedicated storage, and smart cleaning technologies, creating a more fluid and intuitive kitchen experience.
FUNCTION & EXPERIENCE
EcoTech combines multiple functions within a unified architecture. An ultrasonic cleaning bowl with dual rainfall jets enables efficient cleaning of vegetables, fruit, fish, and utensils while reducing water consumption and limiting the need for detergents. A dedicated glass rinser further streamlines everyday cleaning tasks.
The central basin can be concealed with a pair of reversible covers that create a clean and continuous surface when closed, helping maintain an organized and uncluttered kitchen environment. When needed, the covers can be flipped and used as cutting boards, then conveniently stored within a dedicated compartment alongside a collapsible basket and cutlery holder.
A pull-out faucet with electronic temperature control, multiple spray modes, and remote drain operation further enhances usability and convenience.
FORM & INTEGRATION
Many smart sinks prioritize functionality at the expense of visual integration, often appearing more like tech appliances than elements of a premium kitchen. EcoTech follows a different approach.
Advanced features are integrated within a clean and architectural design language, allowing the product to fit naturally into contemporary and premium kitchen environments. Concealed accessories, continuous surfaces, and intuitive controls help maintain a refined and elegant appearance.
SUSTAINABILITY
EcoTech promotes more sustainable everyday habits through technologies designed to reduce resource consumption. Ultrasonic cleaning minimizes the need for chemical detergents, while optimized water delivery systems help reduce waste during washing and rinsing activities.
By combining innovation with thoughtful design, this project demonstrates how technology can contribute to a more responsible, intuitive, and enjoyable kitchen experience.
